MARTIN COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) – One man is dead and another injured after a crash on State Highway 349 in Martin County.
According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, on March 9 at 6:30 a.m., a crash occurred on SH 349 at County Road 4800.
What happened
The investigation revealed a Cadillac SRX was traveling southbound on SH 349 when it veered onto the rumble strips, causing the driver to over-correct and cross into the northbound lanes, striking a Mercedes head-on, according to the report.
The Mercedes was driven by Samuel Jones Lookadoo, 46, of Lubbock.
Lookadoo was pronounced dead at the scene.
The report also stated that the driver of the Cadillac, Francisco Alex Ramos Valasquez, 21, of Lubbock, was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
