Fairview just got a lot more flavorful. Tick Tock Taco and Churro On Top, the dual-concept brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Anna and Manny Kothari, officially opened its doors at a massive new two-story location in the heart of Fairview Town Center.

Combining global fusion tacos with authentic Spanish-style churros, the new spot at 201 Town Place aims to be a one-stop destination for families, foodies and event-seekers alike.

A Craving Turned Concept

The story of Churro On Top began not in a boardroom, but with a pregnancy craving.

“I’m from California originally and I missed the churros I ate there,” Anna Kothari tells Local Profile. “I couldn’t find anything [in Texas] that was as good. The nearest churro to me was Jack in the Box… but we make our own. Our recipe comes from Spain and our machine and fryer come from Spain.”

Determined to bring high-quality sweets to North Texas, the Kotharis imported specialized equipment from Europe to create a “Spanish-inspired” treat. Unlike the denser Mexican-style churros common in the region, these offer a distinct texture and flavor profile true to their European roots.

Tacos Without Borders

While the churros are rooted in tradition, the menu at Tick Tock Taco is all about breaking the rules. Anna describes the menu as a “fusion of tacos,” pulling flavors from across the globe to reflect the diverse tastes of North Texas.

Visitors won’t find traditional street tacos here. Instead, the menu features:

South Asian Flair: Paneer tikka and tandoori chicken tacos.
East Asian Fusion: Beef bulgogi and teriyaki options.
Texas Classics: Beef brisket and crispy buffalo chicken tacos.

“The beauty of tacos is that you can put pretty much anything in them,” Anna says. “We want to reach the people who love the concept of trying something new.”

More Than Just A Restaurant

The Fairview location is the most ambitious project for the brand yet. Following successful openings in Arlington and Richardson, the Fairview site offers two stories of indoor and outdoor dining.

The upstairs area is designed specifically for the community. In addition to being available for private parties and events, it houses the “Catch Club”— a collection of claw machines and games. The idea for the Catch Club actually came from the couple’s seven-year-old daughter, Amara.

“My daughter loves machines,” Anna says. “She actually helps look after them and makes sure they are well-stocked. It was her idea, so we said, ‘Okay, there you go!'”

Dinner, Then Dessert

The philosophy at the new Fairview location is simple: Tacos first, churros second. With the addition of ice cream and “the big boys” (their signature loaded churro creations), the Kotharis have created a space where the community can linger, play and eat.

“Our concept is for everybody,” Anna says. “Whether it’s the food or just the dessert, we’ve always been for everyone.”
