A month-long art exhibit and reception, Provost Sherry Schumann retires and the campus hosts a panel on safe spaces.
Collin College Plano Campus, the only college in Plano, has announced a new provost and several events coming up.
Art exhibition
Collin College’s Plano Campus is hosting FORCES 2026, an art gallery featuring poetry, prose, essays, photos and art from the college and community.
The exhibition will kick off on March 12, followed by a reception on the exhibition’s final day, April 2, at 5:30 p.m.
Provost appointments
Following the retirement of Plano Campus Provost Sherry Schumann, Garry Evans will take over the position on June 1.
“Collin College is a place where opportunity and rigor go hand in hand,” Evans said. “I am honored to serve the Plano Campus and continue partnering with our faculty and staff to help students reach their goals — whether they are transferring to a university, completing a credential, or advancing in the workforce.”
Evans began his career in 2012 as a music professor, advancing to various leadership roles on campus before becoming provost.
This announcement comes alongside the announcement of the retirement of the Wylie and Farmersville campus provost, which will be followed by the appointment of Kyle Bellue.
