Goodland, a 5,000-acre development that calls itself a “new Texas town in the making” in southern Grand Prairie, now has a parkway connecting to highways.

The first four-lane stretch of the Goodland Parkway, complete with a new bridge, opened last month, according to Goodland. The parkway connects with Texas 360 and U.S. 287.

The road provides faster access to Mansfield and opens possibilities for development

Goodland developer Provident, a privately-held Dallas-based real estate firm, is partnering with Grand Prairie to construct the parkway.

Goodland, is south of Mansfield, straddling Johnson and Ellis counties. Provident, expects the development will have 10,000 homes and 40,000 to 50,000 residents.

Grand Prairie recently annexed 900 acres so the development’s town center will have police and fire protection along with water and sewer service.

Plans for the annexed area include a Montessori school, church and event venue.
