Batteries Plus

A new Batteries Plus location is now in its soft opening, store owner Jane Benavides said. The family-owned business sells batteries, lighting, key fob programming and offers repair services.

Bird Dog Roofing

Local residents Brian and Amanda Prokaski launched Bird Dog Roofing in early 2026, Brian Prokaski said. Prokaski is a lifelong Austin-area resident and offers roof inspections, repair and replacement at the Leander-based business.

Curbside Compost

Cedar Park resident Gary Parente established Curbside Compost last fall, he said. The service provides an airtight bin for residents to dispose of their food scraps in, which they put on the curb for their scheduled pickup day.

Game On Bar & Grill

The new sports bar features a 16-by-9-foot LED TV, 44 draft beers and classic American grill food, such as burgers, wings and loaded fries.

The play cafe, brings together an indoor play area, events and bilingual story times. The family and Latina-owned business is geared towards families with children under 6 years old, co-owner Angela Simpson said.

The Boxing Academy

Owned by Ray Lugo, the locally owned gym features both private and group lessons, including family boxing sessions where parents and children can train at the same time.

Crave

A new Crave location is setting up shop in Leander soon, owner Arun Serikar said. The business will offer loaded sodas, as well as six cookie flavors updated weekly.

Dribble Soccer

Dribble Soccer, owned by Bijoy James, Shopith Shylarajan and Vivin Abraham, will feature seasonal camps, leagues, private event space and an All Star FC academy.

Home Depot

The brand sells a selection of appliances, power tools, hand tools and garden supplies.

Petbar

Franchisees Luisa and Orlando Solis are planning the opening of a new Petbar, which offers a range of grooming services, including self-service wash and professional dog grooming.

PickleTex

A new pickleball facility broke ground in late February in Georgetown near the Liberty Hill and Leander border. The facility plans to offer open play, court reservations, coaching, clinics and events.

The 300,000-square-foot store will feature 75 specialty shops, a 65-foot indoor Ferris wheel, a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium and Ginna’s Café.

Willie’s Grill & Icehouse

A new location is coming soon to Leander. The menu includes comfort food like chicken fried steak, onion rings, and fried pickles.

What’s next—permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation

Leander Tech Park

Baltimore-based Highway 29 Commercial will construct an 11,261-square-foot shell building, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. Leander Technology Park, a 50-acre community, will support 13 buildings with approximately 230,000 square feet of space, according to St. John Properties. Construction began Jan. 1, according to the filing, and will last until February 2027.

Taco Bell

Construction on the new chain restaurant is scheduled to begin in late June and last until mid-September, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. Taco Bell is known for its crunchy and soft tacos, Baja Blast beverage and sides like the cheesy fiesta potatoes.

Church of Whitestone, located inside The Crossover is undergoing renovations to include new classrooms for the Whitestone Kids ministry and new offices for the staff. Services will not be impacted during the construction.
