Boot maker Tecovas may be manifesting its destiny into a bigger Stockyards location.

Representatives for the company filed a permit with the city of Fort Worth’s Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission to expand its footprint at 2341 N. Main St. to include the space formerly occupied by Taco Heads, according to the city’s permit database.

The expansion will enclose the covered patio in front and add signs to the side of the building, according to the filing.

A separate remodeling permit was filed in February to demolish what’s left of the now shuttered Taco Heads location.

Representatives for the company did not immediately reply to a phone call and Instagram direct message from the Star-Telegram requesting comment.

Tecovas opened its Stockyards location in June 2020. The 11-year-old company markets itself as company that makes “better boots the right way.”

Since its founding in 2015, the company has expanded past its eastside Austin location to 50 stores in 26 states.
