Kacey Musgraves returns to her roots with her sixth album, “Middle of Nowhere,” featuring collaborations with Willie Nelson and Miranda Lambert, out May 1.

GOLDEN, Texas — East Texas native Kacey Musgraves is back in the “Middle of Nowhere” with her sixth studio album.

After teasing new music with a poster and phone message last week, Musgraves on Wednesday released the first single, “Dry Spell,” off her new album, “Middle of Nowhere,” coming out May 1.

The Golden native and Mineola High School graduate released the 11-song track list of this latest album, which includes collaborations with fellow Texas natives Willie Nelson and Miranda Lambert.

Musgraves and Lambert’s song, “Horses and Divorces,” comes after social media speculation over the weekend that the two East Texas natives would be working together on a song once again. Musgraves wrote “Mama’s Broken Heart,” a song that was sung and released by Lambert on “Four the Record.”

Musgraves’ song with Nelson perhaps references her East Texas roots with the song title of “Uncertain, TX.” Uncertain is a small town in Harrison County that is most known for being the home of Caddo Lake.Â
