Fire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning house fire on Wednesday, according to a Fort Worth Fire Department Facebook post.

The fire was reported around 2 a.m. on the 5000 block of Dilworth Street in Fort Worth, fire officials said. 

When the crews arrived on scene, they found fire coming from a carport that was quickly spreading to the attached one-story home.

Two dogs were in the home at the time of the fire, according to the department.

Firefighters located the two dogs inside the home, one requiring immediate medical attention and oxygen on scene for smoke inhalation. They saved the dog and reunited both with their owners.

The fire was under control within 15 minutes of arrival. No injuries were reported but the home sustained severe damage.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to provide emergency assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
