EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso County constable’s office arrested two people with outstanding warrants on Monday after tracking down a suspect believed to be living in the area.

According to the El Paso County Constable Office of Hector Bernal, Precinct Three, while searching for another wanted individual, 25-year-old Jonathan Ruiz-Esparza was arrested for outstanding warrants for assault and criminal mischief.

The constable’s office said on Monday it received information about an active criminal warrant for criminal mischief over $1,500 and under $20,000, with a $50,000 bond for an individual possibly residing in the 2400 block of Texas.

Deputies also had information that the individual’s brother, identified as Ruiz-Esparza, had active warrants for assault family violence with a $2,500 bond and criminal mischief over $100 and under $750 with a $1,500 bond.

According to the constable’s office, deputies met with the wanted individual and took him into custody, and a short time later, Ruiz-Esparza arrived in a vehicle and was taken into custody and charged on the two warrants.

Both were then transported to the county jail for booking.

However, the name of the individual is unclear, as the constable’s office did not release the identity.

The constable’s office said the wanted individual requested medical assistance because he was feeling ill and asked to be taken to the hospital. He was released to Fire Medical Services, and his warrant was re-filed at the El Paso City Municipal Court.

The constable’s office said Ruiz-Esparza’s warrants were connected to an El Paso Police Department case that occurred on June 18, 2025, at the 2400 block of Texas.

Constable Bernal’s office said deputies continue executing outstanding warrants across El Paso as part of public safety efforts and urged residents to report suspicious activity.
