Austin police are investigating after responding to reports of a deceased person in Lake Austin on Tuesday evening.
APD confirmed that officers with the agency, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire officials responded to the scene at 12110 Pleasant Panorama View — which sits along the section of the Colorado River dammed off as Lake Austin — at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The individual was located and removed from the water and pronounced deceased at 7:26 p.m. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, but the death is not being investigated as a homicide, officials said.
The cause of death will be determined by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office, officials said.
Officials did not release the person’s name, age or gender.
