The San Antonio area could be in for a stormy Friday night.

In the San Antonio Area, we will see storms arrive in our far western tier counties between 7pm – 10pm. As they move in, there will be risk of strong wind gusts and hail in our western counties. They will then spread east arriving in and around Bexar County from 10pm – 1am.

According to our TV partner News 4, “Total rainfall remains in the .50″ to 1.50″+ range to me. Areas way down south would see less. As for the weekend, I’ll keep a lingering 30% rain chance in the forecast for a few showers or a t-storm possible through the day but the heavier storms will likely be in the Houston area and possibly a pocket of stronger storms developing in the Austin area near the upper low.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to activate emergency response resources ahead of the threat for severe weather for a large portion of the state, beginning Thursday night and lasting through the weekend.

“Texas stands ready to deploy all emergency resources needed to help local officials respond to potential severe weather across the state,” said Governor Abbott. “State and local emergency response partners are actively monitoring weather conditions and are on standby to provide all necessary resources to protect Texans and our communities. Texans are encouraged to regularly monitor road conditions, make an emergency plan, and heed the guidance of state and local officials.”
