The principal of McCulloch Intermediate and Highland Park Middle School is retiring at the end of the school year after six years as a principal in Highland Park ISD.
MIS/HPMS Principal Amanda Reyes joined the district as the inaugural principal of Boone Elementary in 2019 and was promoted to principal of MIS/HPMS in 2024. Prior to joining Highland Park ISD, Reyes served as principal of Olson Elementary in Allen ISD, and as an Assistant Principal at Anderson Elementary from 2011-2015 before that.
“The relationships I have formed with students, parents, and staff will always hold a special place in my heart,” Reyes said in a statement. “Your trust, support, and collaboration have been instrumental during my time in Highland Park ISD, and I deeply appreciate your contributions.”
Highland Park ISD Superintendent Dr. Mike Rockwood praised Reyes’ leadership.
“Amanda’s leadership has been defined by a strong focus on academic excellence. Under her guidance, our students have achieved record levels of performance and her commitment to high expectations and strong instructional leadership has strengthened the academic foundation of our schools,” Rockwood said.
The search for the next MIS/HPMS principal will begin immediately and the district said the community will have opportunities to share input in the coming weeks.
