HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Police are investigating after a teen was shot in southwest Houston overnight.

The Houston Police Department said shots were fired late Tuesday night near the Renwick and Glenmont Drive intersection.

HPD said a 17-year-old was walking down the street when he heard gunfire and was shot in the back.

The department said the teen ran down the road to get help and was taken to the hospital, where he’s expected to be OK.

According to police, one witness said they heard about 10 gunshots in that area, though it’s unclear where exactly they came from.

Officials are still investigating what happened and have not released additional details.
