A cold front will drop temperatures in North Texas notably Thursday morning, bringing the region closer to normal.

Average temperatures for Dallas-Fort Worth in early March place highs in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 40s. So far this month, both measurements have been about 15 degrees higher than usual, continuing a pattern from the region’s abnormally warm winter.

Temperatures Thursday are forecast to fall a few degrees below normal, with a high of 65, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. The more seasonable temperatures are not expected to last, however. This weekend, highs should return to 80 degrees.

Thursday should also be a reprieve from gusty winds, which were consistently between 30 and 45 miles per hour Wednesday afternoon at DFW International Airport. Winds should start building again Friday, with gusts back up near 30 miles per hour on Sunday.
