An overturned tractor-trailer caused major traffic delays on State Highway 288 near Manvel, Texas, Wednesday night.

MANVEL, Texas — An overturned tractor-trailer shut down a major exit ramp on State Highway 288 late Wednesday night, causing significant traffic delays.,

The crash happened around 11 p.m. on March 11 on the southbound Highway 288 exit ramp and feeder road just before State Highway 6. According to officials on scene, the exit and feeder road were closed, and at least one main lane of southbound 288 was blocked as emergency vehicles responded.

Manvel police officers, firefighters, and crews from the Texas Department of Transportation worked to secure the scene. Environmental response personnel from Masters ARS were also called out after fuel began leaking from the truck’s diesel engine. The tractor‑trailer was carrying a load of groceries, responders said.

No injuries were immediately reported, and the cause of the overturn remains under investigation.

Traffic restrictions remained in place overnight as crews worked to remove the truck and clean up the fuel spill.
