A new multifamily community is expected to break ground in Allen this month, according to a news release.

Atlanta-based multifamily development and construction firm Wood Partners is bringing Alta Preserve, a 311-unit multifamily community, to The Farm, a 135-acre mixed-use development located along SH 121.

The specifics

The four-story Class-A development will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, according to the release.

Alta Preserve will feature amenities such as an indoor and outdoor skydeck, a resort-style pool, a golf simulator, a dry sauna, a dog park and dog wash station, a club and fitness studio, and individual micro-office and fitness locations on each floor, per the release.

Alta Preserve is part of the third phase of Wood Partners’ multifamily construction at The Farm. The firm also developed Alta at The Farm, which debuted in 2023, and completed Alta Magnolia last year, the release states.

The context

When The Farm is fully built out, it will include restaurants, office space, residential units, a hotel and a 2.5-acre lake with trail access, the release states.

When completed, the project will include a total of 2,400 urban residential units and over 1 million square feet of office space, JaRyCo Development President Bruce Heller said.

Chicken N Pickle opened at The Farm last May, and The Hub is open with 35,000 square feet of restaurant space. As of early March, FarmWorks One, a three-story office building at The Farm, is over 55% occupied.

“We look forward to continuing to grow at The Farm with more high quality residential development,” Heller said of the Alta Preserve project in an email.

What they’re saying

“Alta Preserve continues our efforts to create a community at The Farm where residents can easily connect with the places around them,” Wood Partners Managing Director Ryan Miller said in the release. “With its continued expansion of the master-planned community and proximity to Legacy West just ten minutes away, Alta Preserve offers the kind of everyday convenience and sense of place that people value.”

Looking ahead

Construction of the community is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2027, per the release.
