Breaking: Northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 287 in Fort Worth shut down as police investigate active scene

Fort Worth Police are currently investigating an active scene that stemmed from an earlier incident that took place in the 2200 block of Maddox St.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Police are currently investigating an active scene near U.S. 287, closing both northbound and southbound lanes to traffic. 

According to Fort Worth Police, the scene is related to an earlier incident that took place in the 2200 block of Maddox St. 

The highway closures are affecting the northbound lanes near the Mitchell Boulevard exit, and the southbound lanes at Rosedale Street.

WFAA reporters are at the scene as well, awaiting word from officials, including police commissioner Eddie Garcia.
