Arlington police found a 23-year-old woman trapped under a vehicle on March 12. The woman, who was riding a moped, died after she was hit by a car, investigators said.

A woman was killed in a crash involving a car and a moped Thursday morning in Arlington about 8:35 a.m.
Officers found the 23-year-old woman trapped under a vehicle when they arrived at the intersection of Carter Drive and Sunflower Drive. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police investigators said the woman was driving north on Carter Drive on a 2026 Yamaha Vino moped when she was hit by a 2014 Nissan Sentra.
“The woman attempted to lay the moped on its side to avoid colliding with the Sentra, but fell to the ground and was run over,” police said in a news release.
According to police, the driver of the Nissan tried to turn from an alleyway onto Carter Drive and pulled out in front of the woman.
The driver of the Nissan, who remained on the scene, is cooperating with police and hasn’t been charged with a crime at this time.
The victim has not yet been identified; the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release her name after family is notified.
