Jiaxing Guan, 32, faces burglary and forgery charges after police arrested him in Caldwell for allegedly committing fraud involving stolen credit card info.

NAMPA, Idaho — A Texas man was arrested by police on Tuesday for allegedly committing fraud across the Treasure Valley and in multiple states.

Jiaxing Guan, 32, of Houston, Texas, was arrested in Caldwell by the Nampa Police Department with assistance from the Caldwell Police Department, according to a news release. Guan is facing charges of burglary, forgery, and criminal possession of a bank card.

Police on social media said the arrest follows reports of fraudulent activity at a local grocery store, where Guan allegedly used stolen credit card information to purchase hundreds of dollars in gift cards, along with an Easter basket. Police said the Easter basket does not appear to have any significance to the alleged crimes and was “likely an impulse purchase.”

Authorities believe Guan may have committed similar fraud in numerous states. He was arrested wearing a jacket that read “No Risk, No Reward” with green dice on the back. Guan drove a white 2020 Toyota Camry with Texas license plates.

The investigation is ongoing, and police said they are working to identify all potential Idaho victims. Anyone who believes their credit card information may have been stolen or used to purchase gift cards without authorization is asked to contact police.

Business owners or employees who  may have seen Guan making recent purchases, possibly using self-checkout, are asked to contact investigators.
