(TNND) — The U.S. military said on Thursday a refueling aircraft went down in Iraq and rescue efforts are on the way. A second aircraft, also involved, landed safely.

Although the incident occurred in a “friendly airspace,” during Operation Epic Fury it was not due to “friendly fire,” according to U.S. Central Command.

The aircraft was U.S. KC-135 refueling jet, according to U.S. Central Command.

More information will be made available as the situation develops, according to U.S. Central Command.

Iran continues to to hit it’s neighboring Gulf countries as the Middle East conflict stretches on. The country is also launching drones at oil tankers around the Middle East.

President Donald Trump promised to “finish the job,” in the conflict but emphasizes Iran is “virtually destroyed.”

The first week of war cost the United States $11.3 billion, according to the Pentagon.

A total of 3.2 million people in Iran have been displaced, according to the U.N. refugee agency. Authorities in Lebanon say 800,000 have been forced to flee their homes as Israel’s military destroys buildings potentially linked to Hezbollah militants.

The U.S. Embassy in Beirut remains on high alert and advises individuals not to travel.
