SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man now has a 45-year-sentence in prison in connection to a fatal car crash involving a stolen vehicle.
Phillip Lopez was convicted of stealing a car on the Southeast Side and then crashing it moments later in August 2020. In doing so, Lopez slammed into a car driven by Olga De Anda, who later died at a hospital.
Police say Lopez snatched the car while it was running in the 2800 block of Goliad Road, and the subsequent crash involved two other cars after he ran a red light. Lopez was facing additional charges of aggravated assault and failure to render aid, which weighed heavily on the sentence.
