When crews arrived on scene, they noticed smoke coming from an apartment on the second floor.

DALLAS — Dallas Fire-Rescue battled a blaze at a two-story apartment complex early Friday morning, according to officials. 

Firefighters were dispatched to the 8400 block of La Prada Drive just before 1 a.m. When crews arrived on scene, they noticed smoke coming from an apartment on the second floor. 

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire in just 30 minutes, officials say. 

Crews are still assessing the amount of damage, but the American Red Cross is helping those residents impacted by the fire, crews say. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.Â
