A Durant woman is suing two businesses she says contributed to a deadly crash that killed her husband and daughter in 2024.

On Christmas Eve in 2024, an SUV driven by Will Robinson went off the road and crashed into a flooded ditch near Sherman, Texas. Robinson died at the scene, but Robinson’s 8-year-old daughter, Clara, was swept away by floodwaters and never found, despite a months-long search.

The search for 8-year-old Clara Robinson of Durant, Oklahoma, has ended after four months of searching. Robinson was swept away by floodwaters on Christmas Eve in Sherman, Texas.

Now, Kristen Robinson, wife of Will and mother of Clara, claims investigators cited a lack of tread on the SUV’s tires, which caused it to lose control and hydroplane, leading to the crash.

In a new lawsuit filed by Robinson, she alleges two auto businesses failed to identify safety issues with the car during inspections months before the crash.

The lawsuit is seeking at least $75,000 in damages.
