PERRY, Ga. (WGXA) — Authorities are investigating an apartment shooting in Perry that left a man dead.
The Perry Police Department (PPD) said shots were fired at Houston Lake Apartments in Perry on Thursday at around 9:28 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound behind the 1700 building. That man was pronounced dead by the Houston County Coroner’s Office, and his identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting PPD in the case, and law enforcement does not believe there is an active threat to the community.
