After spending last season as the hunters, Texas baseball is now the hunted.
Off to an undefeated start this season, No. 2 Texas (16-0) will host Ole Miss (15-3) for its SEC opener on Friday night. Last year, UT went 22-8 in SEC play and won a conference championship during its league debut.
Texas was picked to finish second this year by the SEC coaches in the conference’s preseason poll.
In addition to being the SEC’s defending champions, Texas also enters Friday as one of two undefeated teams left in college baseball. On Friday afternoon, No. 25 USC (18-0) opened up a three-game series at Northwestern with a 15-1 victory.
