EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Police confirm the identity of the driver who was seriously hurt after a single-vehicle crash on I-10 in East El Paso that shut down all westbound lanes for a couple of hours.

The El Paso Police Department identified the driver as 43-year-old Norma Garcia.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the crash happened on I-10 West near Lee Trevino on Wednesday afternoon.

No details have been released regarding what happened; however, photos and videos from the scene show what appears to be the head of a pickaxe on the hood of Garcia’s SUV and a hole in the windshield, on the driver’s side.

No word yet on Garcia’s condition.

At the time of the crash, the El Paso Fire Department described her injuries as serious.
