Not everybody loves Buc-ee’s, as it turns out.

The giant Texas convenience store, known for its brisket, beaver nugget snacks and clean gas station bathrooms, recently received an “F” rating at many of its Texas locations from the Better Business Bureau.

The BBB is a non-profit company that provides free A-F ratings on more than 5.8 million businesses. Ratings are based on customer complaints, transparency and responsiveness.

Buc-ee’s has built a cult following among Texans. The 24-hour convenience store and gas station is known for having way more than just road trip snacks. Customers have options to buy Texas barbecue, clothing, ice coolers, river floats and even wine.

The Texas gas station chain actually sits at No. 3 in the 2025 American Customer Satisfaction Index.

But here’s why the BBB gave Buc-ee’s a low grade.

🔥 In case you missed it…

Why did the BBB give Buc-ee’s stores an ‘F’?

The BBB said its poor score for the Texas megastore was due to unresolved customer complaints. The BBB says customers lodged 88 complaints against Buc-ee’s in the last three years, with 27 of those complaints closed within the last year.

“Bought the chicken, bacon, avocado, ranch wrap, it was so disgusting that I had to throw it out the window,” one unresolved complaint from February states. “There was no bacon, or ranch and only a few pieces of chicken, all the other ingredients for things like shredded carrots, and cabbage that look like it belonged in an eggroll.”

Another complaint from January said a customer ordered a Buc-ee’s gift card online, but never received it. “Buc-cee’s has TERRIBLE customer service. They have no phone number for you to call, only email. I have filled out their form with all of the information multiple times and have yet to hear back from them,” the complaint says.

Which Buc-ee’s stores got an F grade?

Buc-ees operates 54 locations across 11 states, with 36 locations in Texas.

The BBB gave 38 Buc-ee’s locations an F countrywide. The Buc-ee’s in Fort Worth at 15901 North Freeway was the only North Texas location to receive an F grade.
