Dallas police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one person dead in the Medical District on Wednesday night.
According to the Dallas Police Department, the incident took place in the 1900 block of Medical District Drive at approximately 11 p.m.
Police said the Dallas Fugitive Unit was conducting an investigation when they located the suspect inside the parking garage at Children’s Health Hospital.

The suspect barricaded himself inside the parking garage, police said. Officers gave the suspect multiple commands to surrender, but when the suspect refused, SWAT was called to the scene.
According to police, officers tried to use tear gas to bring the suspect out.
Police said when the suspect finally exited his vehicle, he pointed a gun at police officers, at which point the officers shot and fired.
The Dallas SWAT doctor rendered aid to the suspect, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No officers were injured during the incident.
According to police, the suspect, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants, had been under surveillance by the Fugitive Unit throughout the day.
The Dallas Police Department’s physical evidence team will be collecting evidence in the garage for the next several hours.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
