Students taking SAT exams at a North Texas high school on Saturday morning were evacuated due to a bomb threat, officials said.
Dallas police officers conducted a sweep of every room at Lake Highlands High School but determined the threat wasn’t credible, Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV reported.
The high school, which is located at 9449 Church Road in Dallas, is part of Richardson Independent School District. In a notice to parents, obtained by WFAA, district officials said the Dallas Police Department learned of the threat and informed the district on Saturday morning.
“We take any potential threat very seriously, and the safety of our students remains our highest priority,” the notice states.
A woman said on social media that her son was taking the SAT at the school, and he and the other students were told to log out and leave the building.
The College Board will contact the impacted students and help them reschedule the exam, according to the notice.
Richardson ISD schools will be on spring break from March 16-20.
