HOUSTON – Felony charges have been filed for a woman accused of hindering the arrest of a Houston murder suspect who was on the run for more than two weeks.
Harris County court records show Samone Dionne Emerson, 42, was arrested on Friday afternoon and charged with hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence connected to murder suspect Johna Robinson, 49.
Robinson, who is accused of fatally shooting 52-year-old Terribia Dembry on Feb. 24, was mistakenly released mere hours before murder charges were formally filed. Robinson was initially arrested and posted bond on an unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon charge.
A warrant for Robinson was issued, and he was arrested in North Houston on March 13 at a residence in 10800 block of Coralstone Road, more than two weeks after he was released.
He faces new federal charges, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and a federal unlawful carry charge.
Robinson is set to appear in federal court on Monday.
Court records say Emerson allegedly tried to conceal Robinson’s clothing so it could not be used as evidence in the Feb. 24 shooting and attempted to hinder his arrest on March 13.
Emerson is scheduled for a preliminary appearance in a Harris County courtroom on Monday at 9 a.m.
