MOBILE, Ala. – UT Arlington women’s golf is preparing for the home stretch of its season, gearing up for the Magnolia Collegiate hosted by South Alabama. It is the penultimate tournament of the regular season for the Mavericks before the WAC Women’s Golf Championship in April.

UTA is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Riverbend Intercollegiate. The Mavericks had scores of 305-296-306– 907, which was 43-over-par. 

There is one change in the lineup for UTA following the Riverbend Intercollegiate. Carmen Gonzalez Lo-A-Njoe is re-entering the lineup and Nirjara Gulhane is out.

INSIDE THE LINEUP

Nitisha Manikandesh


Manikandesh’s return to the lineup at the Riverbend Intercollegiate was a good one. The senior tied for the top individual finish among UTA players at 22nd. Manikandesh finished with an 8-over 224 for the tournament that featured an even-par 72 in the second round, the best round from any Maverick at the event.

Tarini Bhoga


Matching Manikandesh’s 22nd place finish was Bhoga. The sophomore opened the Riverbend Intercollegiate with a pair of 73’s in the first two rounds. Bhoga was the Mavericks top finisher after day one of the tournament.

Kamri Gabel


Gabel finished in a tie for 31st at the Riverbend Intercollegiate with an 11-over 227. The senior’s tournament was highlighted by a 2-over 74 in round two. Gabel shot a 75 in the final round, the lowest for any UTA player.

Chandler Browning


One Maverick improved their score in every round and that distinction belongs to Browning. The redshirt senior carded rounds of 79-77-76– 232, placing in a tie for 48th.

Carmen Gonzalez Lo-A-Njoe


Lo-A-Njoe was last in action at the West Texas Classic where she finished in a tie for 57th. The junior’s 234 for the tournament was highlighted by a 3-over 73 in the second round.
