A man was fatally shot early Sunday, March 15, in the Diamond Hill neighborhood in north Fort Worth, police said.

A man was fatally shot early Sunday in the Diamond Hill area in north Fort Worth, and five suspects were detained for questioning, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting about 2 a.m. in the 2000 block of East Long Ave, where they found a man with at least one gunshot wound, Fort Worth police said in a news release.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Officers found the suspect vehicle, which a 911 caller said was a black SUV, based on a description from witnesses, police said.

Police said five people who were inside the SUV were detained. No arrests or charges have been announced in connection to the shooting.

Police said homicide detectives are investigating further details, including the motive for the shooting.

The man who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
