HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a semi-trailer in northwest Harris County early Sunday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on FM 529 west of U.S. 290.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the motorcycle rider was speeding westbound down FM 529 when he lost control of the bike and crashed into the trailer part of the semi-trailer. Both the semi-trailer and motorcycle burst into flames and the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi-trailer was trying to turn east onto FM 529 at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the incident is underway. No charges have been filed at this time.
