The Texas Hill Country’s dining scene just keeps getting sweeter. Fredericksburg’s Cabernet Grill, a romantic, rustic-style eatery that serves gourmet steak, seafood and pristine Texas wines just earned top honors with a 2025Â TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award as one of the Best Date Night Restaurants in the United States – making it one of the most and best reviewed eateries in world.
The annual honor celebrates some of the highest-rated dining destinations across the globe, according to TripAdvisor.
“Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone,” the travel blog said.
Based on real traveler reviews collected over a year-long period, the title is a major accomplishment, achieved by dining establishments that receive a high number of “above-and-beyond” reviews.

Cabernet Grill was the only Texas restaurant to make the list, coming in at No. 18 nationwide. Guests praise the restaurants cozy, Hill Country ambiance, complete with a waterfall and koi pond, and their indulgent menu of filet mignon, chicken fried ribeye and pecan-crusted chicken. TripAdvisor describes the experience as “unforgettable,” thanks in part to a “thoughtful” dessert menu and top-tier service.
With more than 2,500 positive online reviews, the restaurant is considered a “must-visit” in Fredericksburg, earning a 4.6 star rating out of 5. TripAdvisor mentions the filet mignon, chicken fried ribeye, pecan-crusted chicken and a “thoughtful” dessert menu for an “unforgettable” experience.

The fine dining restaurant owns the nation’s largest all-Texas wine list with a 1,500-bottle inventory, including 200 different wines from more than 50 different wineries.
