Two People Airlifted After Crash on Triviz Drive and Cholla Road in El Paso

El Paso, TX (March 14, 2026) – Three people suffered injuries in an early-morning crash on Triviz Drive near New Mexico State University on Saturday, March 14, according to NMSU Police Chief Justin Dunivan.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. at Triviz Drive and Cholla Road. Investigators said two injured people required air transport to El Paso for treatment. Police believe the crash may have caused an object to strike or impale them.

Emergency crews also took a third injured person to a Las Cruces hospital. Authorities described that person’s injuries as non-life-threatening.

Police initially received information suggesting the driver may have fled the scene. Investigators continue to examine that possibility as part of the ongoing case.

Officials later updated the information released about the crash.

NMSU Police first reported that at least one person had been airlifted, but they have now confirmed that two people were flown to El Paso because of their injuries.
