Driver ejected, killed after rolling pickup south of Pampa

GRAY COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — A driver was ejected and killed after a rollover crash south of Pampa on Sunday morning.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened at about 8 a.m. on FM 749 and CR 9, about six and a half miles south of Pampa.

A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 46-year-old Alejandro Aguirre Ybarra, of Odessa, was southbound on FM 749 when the pickup left the roadway for unknown reasons. Ybarra overcorrected the steering, causing the pickup to enter a side skid and roll over multiple times.

He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.

Ybarra was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.
