The kitchen of this single-story home features stainless appliances, quartz countertops and an oversized farmhouse sink. One bathroom has been updated with a frameless glass shower and designer finishes, while the other embraces a bright, vintage look. Listing agent Lewis McKnight of McKnight and Associates writes that it’s “the perfect blend of classic charm and modern updates in a prime East Dallas location.”
This is the smallest of the three houses we checked out, but at $649,000, it lands right at the sweet spot. And someone obviously agrees: The house recently went “pending.”

List price: $625,000 | Neighborhood: West Dallas | Square footage: 2,237 | Lot size: 0.05 acre
The rooftop alone might sell you on 2651 Carmelita St., but don’t miss all the extras the current owners splurged on: reverse osmosis water filtration, zoned HVAC for all three floors, custom closet storage and more. “All of the things that you want but you never got around to doing” is how listing agent Jermaine Alfred of eXp Realty explains it.
This three-bedroom home is a detached unit with a townhouse look. It was built in 2022 in phase one of Soho Square, a luxury community with amenities such as a pool, gym, bowling alley and more. A wide range of dining options are in easy walking distance. “It’s incredible what the community offers,” Alfred says.
It’s hard not to get stuck looking at the rooftop deck, which features a custom pergola, motorized privacy screen and built-in gas grill. But the inside of the home holds its own, with upgrades such as custom kitchen cabinetry and architectural accent walls. The home’s office has a built-in Murphy bed, expanding the options for its use as a guest room or third bedroom. All this and under budget, too: This one is priced at $625,000.

List price: $675,000 | Neighborhood: Lochwood | Square footage: 2,285 | Lot size: 0.22 acre
Classic charm comes with more-than-classic space at 10611 Wyatt St. This Lochwood Cape Cod has all the exterior details you’d expect of the style — symmetry, dormers, front porch — and an interior that is open, bright and fresh.
You’ll be surprised by the space inside, says listing agent Sam Bullard with the Bullard McCarthy Group of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. “Many homes in Lochwood don’t have two large living areas like this home,” he notes. The spaciousness extends to extras such as walk-in closets in all bedrooms.
The home’s bathrooms and kitchen have been fully updated with quartz countertops, plus double vanities in the two main bathrooms. The primary bedroom is on the main floor; two additional bedrooms are upstairs. Behind the house, a ground-level deck provides outdoor living space on this corner lot with mature trees.
Bullard says the last two owners had small children. “I think the parents loved being able to be in the kitchen and still keep close eye on the kids by using one of the living areas as a perfect playroom.”
Increase your budget to $675,000 and you’d have the largest lot and living space of the three homes we checked out.
