Local Teen’s Win Continues a Family Tradition of Poultry Excellence
Judges selected the champion broilers on Friday at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Junior Market Poultry Show in NRG Arena. Bree Dooley, a 15-year-old from Fayette County 4-H, claimed the Grand Champion title in the Junior Market Broiler Show. Dooley said she has been showing broilers for eight years and credited her family for helping her reach the milestone. “It means so much — the world, everything,” Dooley said about winning the title. Saturday Dooley’s Broilers sold for a new rodeo record of $432,000. Her father, Todd Dooley won Grand Champion with his pen of broilers in 1994 – making her a second-generation Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Junior Market Broilers Grand Champion.
