ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington Mavericks return to Clay Gould Ballpark on Tuesday, March 16, for a midweek non-conference matchup against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, with the game available on ESPN+.
UT Arlington enters the contest 7–12 overall after securing a series victory over No. 24 UTSA this past weekend in San Antonio. Stephen F. Austin arrives in Arlington with a 12–9 record following a series loss to Southeastern Louisiana.
GAME NOTES
UTA returns home following its series win over the nationally ranked Roadrunners, marking the Mavericks’ first series victory over a ranked opponent this season.
Xavier Melendez paced the Maverick offense during the series, going 7-for-15 (.467) with a double, a home run and nine RBI while posting a .579 on-base percentage and .733 slugging percentage.
Austin Phillips also had a strong weekend at the plate, finishing 8-for-15 (.533) with a double, three runs scored and two RBI, recording a .563 on-base percentage and .600 slugging percentage across the three games.
As a team, UT Arlington is batting .254 with 170 hits, 35 doubles, and nine home runs through 19 games.
Tuesday marks the first meeting between the Mavericks and Lumberjacks this season.
