Jake Oettinger hasn’t missed a beat after the Olympic break.

The Dallas Stars goalie has played a key role in his team’s recent success. For that, he was honored as the NHL’s Second Star of the Week.

Oettinger earned the latest honor after posting a 3-0-0 record in games from March 10-14. He posted a 1.65 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage as Dallas defeated the Vegas Golden Knights, Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings.

Oettinger posted a total of 78 saves in that three-game stretch. He recorded 26 saves in Dallas’ narrow 2-1 win over the Golden Knights. He followed that up with a 30-save performance in a 7-2 win over the Oilers. To close out his productive week, Oettinger recorded 22 saves in a 3-2 win over the Red Wings.

Oettinger currently ranks third among NHL goalies with 28 wins on the season. Only Tampa Bay’s Andrei Vasilevskiy (30) and Utah’s Karel Vejmelka (30) have more.

The Stars’ goalie was honored this week alongside New York Rangers left wing Alexis Lafrenière (First Star) and St. Louis Blues right wing Jimmy Snuggerud.
