Several lanes of State Highway 114 in Irving are closed Monday evening due to the presence of police and fire department crews.
All eastbound and westbound lanes between Tom Braniff Drive and Spur 482 are shut down due to an accident, according to a statement from police.
Officers ask people to avoid the area and find an alternate route. There is no threat to the public, police said.
Video from Texas Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed police vehicles blocking off westbound lanes and fire engines in the eastbound lanes.

There was heavy traffic around 7 p.m. near Loop 12 until the highway meets Riverside Drive, the cameras showed.
The Dallas Morning News contacted Irving fire officials for further details but did not immediately hear back.
