AUSTIN, Texas — Police have identified Rogerio Martinez Jr., 54, as the suspect in a stabbing on a CapMetro bus on South Lamar Boulevard on Friday that left two people injured.

Martinez was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, both second-degree felonies, and booked into the Travis County Correctional Complex. He faces a cumulative $200,000 bond.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of South Lamar Boulevard around 1:34 p.m. March 13 after a stabbing was reported on the bus. Martinez was detained at the scene and later taken to a hospital for evaluation before being booked.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services transported two victims to local hospitals. One suffered non-life-threatening injuries; the second was critically wounded but is now in stable condition.
