SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Department of Public Safety says the Leon Valley Mega Center Driver License Office is temporarily closed after a water pipe leak caused flooding inside the building.

DPS said the building is a leased facility and the owner has been notified and is working with DPS leadership to address the issue and complete necessary repairs. DPS did not provide an estimated time for the office to reopen.

Customers with scheduled appointments are being notified through the DPS Driver License appointment system using ADHOC, which allows DPS to send alerts directly to customers using the email address or phone number provided when the appointment was scheduled.

DPS said a message sent through ADHOC this morning stated, “Due to severe building issues, this location is closed. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please reschedule online.”

DPS said customers will also receive a notification that reads, “Due to building issues, this office will be temporarily closed. There is no estimated time to reopen. Please email @dps.texas.gov for rescheduling.”

DPS said the email address in that message is designated exclusively for people with canceled appointments.

DPS said it has notified more than 3,000 customers whose appointments are affected this week. The agency said it does not yet have a specific number of canceled appointments, but the Leon Valley location typically serves an estimated 600 to 700 customers per day.

DPS noted that appointments for driver’s license offices are published six months in advance and are scheduled through the DPS appointment system.

Customers can reschedule through the Texas DPS appointment scheduling system at https://public.txdpsscheduler.com/.

The Leon Valley Mega Center provides a full range of services, including driver license applications and renewals, road tests, identification card services, commercial driver license services, license and identification card replacements, and updates to customer information.

DPS said its leadership is working closely with the building owner to complete repairs as quickly as possible and that it will continue to keep the public informed while assisting customers with rescheduling.
