SAN ANTONIO – The capital murder trial begins for a man accused of killing a pregnant teen, her boyfriend, and their unborn son just hours before he was supposed to be delivered.
In 2023, Savannah Soto and her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, were found shot to death outside Guerra’s car at an apartment complex in Leon Valley.

Christopher Preciado was arrested and charged with capital murder.
Soto’s grandmother told us she left the courthouse shaking when she came face to face with the suspect’s family, who is accused of murdering her granddaughter and the unborn baby.
“It was just like, God, I couldn’t believe that I saw her there. I saw him — his father — face to face. I could not believe it,” said Rachel Soto, Savannah’s grandmother. “They were just sitting there like if they hadn’t done nothing, like all the people there that were just going to court. That’s how they looked.”
I got my family and we just walked out of there. We didn’t wait for the jurors or nothing because my son was already losing it.”
Opening statements in the trial begin this morning.
