One person is dead, and a firefighter is injured following a fire in Dallas on Tuesday morning.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, units responded to multiple 911 calls regarding a structure fire at a home in the 100 block of W. Saner Avenue shortly after 3 a.m.

Officials said when firefighters arrived at the one-story residence, they saw heavy fire coming from the back of the home.

Attack teams took immediate action, but their efforts to put out the fire were made difficult by the hoarding conditions inside the home, officials said.

According to officials, firefighters worked for over an hour to extinguish the flames and declared the fire extinguished at 4:49 a.m.

Officials said during firefighting operations, an unresponsive man was pulled from inside the house.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but was ultimately pronounced dead, officials said.

According to officials, a firefighter also suffered a minor upper body injury and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

This incident remains under investigation, and the cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
