EL PASO, Texas – (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso Fire Department responded to a condition one fire early Tuesday morning in central El Paso.

Kris Menendez, battalion chief for the department, says the call came in around 5 a.m. at the 100 block of Palm Street for a report of a structure fire.

When crews arrived on scene, Menendez says they spotted a fire in a refrigeration unit on the outside of the building.

“Within minutes of the first crews arrived at the scene, we had to put it out. Again, there was no extension into the building,” Menendez said.

No injures were reported.

The Fire Marshal is on scene and investigating, and the section of Palm Street is expected to be closed for a couple of hours.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
