FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Multiple lanes were shut down on Highway 90A at Cravens Road after a crash involving an Amtrak train and an 18-wheeler on Tuesday, officials said.

According to TranStar, the crash was reported at about 11:35 a.m on Tuesday. The City of Missouri City stated that the crash involved an Amtrak train and an 18-wheeler.

Officials said that Missouri City fire personnel responded to the scene and extinguished a fire from the crash. According to the city, a HAZMAT team also responded to the scene.

According to officials, emergency crews responded to evaluate the train’s passengers. They also said a METRO bus has been staged to assist and transport the passengers.

City officials said that one westbound lane is currently open, with all eastbound lanes open as well.

Authorities advised people to avoid the area and to expect traffic delays.

SkyEye flew over the scene on Tuesday at about 12:30 p.m. and captured images of the aftermath of the crash. SkyEye also showed a crowd of people sitting along the side of the road.
