El Paso just took San Antonio down a notch, (ok, several notches), and jumped up over 100 places on a list of 150 American cities people want to move to and 1st place could be next.
RentCafe is a website that helps peeps find apartments, contact leasing agents, arrange tours, apply for rentals, etc. They also compile search results and ratings for apartments and cities.
Their latest report says folks are loving the 915. According to them, we jumped up a ton of spots and could be headed for #1 in terms of cities people want to move to.
San Antonio is now well below El Paso on the list of 150 at #56 while El Chuco is enjoying the view from 28th place.
How Did El Paso Do In RentCafe Study?
Not only did El Paso soar 115 spots year-over-year in the national rankings, but it also saw the steepest increase in renter interest of any U.S. city. RentCafe says the jump was fueled by a 279 percent increase in favorited apartments in El Paso and a 53 percent increase in saved searches. – mysanantonio
What Other Texas Cities Made RentCafe’s List?
While San Antonio’s ranking was well below El Paso’s, they actually rose quite a bit to get to 56, climbing 80 spots to get there. Several other Texas cities also made made it.

In between El Paso and San Antonio, Dallas landed at 35, Amarillo was number 46 and Houston was #48. Austin was waaaaayyyyy down there at #114. I think Austin’s problem is probably all the politicians. Seriously, who wants to be surrounded by a bunch of them?
