‘Lioness’ to close street for filming
“Lioness” is closing South University Drive between West Lancaster Avenue and West Freeway, according to a city street use permit.
The stretch of University will be fully closed from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 24 and 25. “Lioness” will film driving, stunt and collision scenes during those days.
Fort Worth police will be on-site to facilitate traffic and all local residents/businesses will have access to their properties at all times, per the permit. Once filming wraps, traffic operations will return to normal.
Speaking of traffic, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden announced Monday that its main entrance on University Drive will be closed on March 24 and 25 due to a “special event.”
During those two days, guests will not be able to enter through the University Drive gate. Instead, all guests will need to enter and exit through the Trail Drive gate, which is accessible from Montgomery Street.
The garden will remain open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on those days, with the last ticket sold at 5 p.m. The “Butterflies in the Garden” interactive event will also continue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last ticket sold at 4 p.m.
