Another high-profile property owner has confirmed that one of its buildings has been tagged on a growing list of potential sites for a new Dallas City Hall.

The Epic, which recently landed new tenants including AI-startup 4Minds and the Bomb Factory’s corporate offices, has been toured by city officials scouting sites for a new municipal headquarters if city leaders decide to exit the current building at 1500 Marilla St., Joe Beard, president and CEO of Westdale, told Dallas Business Journal in an exclusive interview. Dallas-based Westdale is the lead developer, owner and driving force behind the expansive 8-acre urban mixed-use development on the western edge Deep Ellum and just east of downtown.

Beard said The Epic is a prime location for a City Hall move-in due to its amenity-rich environment, including restaurants and entertainment options, and proximity to downtown Dallas.

“They [city officials] have been by numerous times, so I think we’re right up there as a very good choice,” Beard said. “We’re sitting right across the elevated freeway from downtown and we offer a great deal of parking.”
